The Rhythm Studio Foundation (RSF), believes that talented young musicians deserve a chance whatever their background. As a small music charity based in the northern, less affluent part of Kensington and Chelsea, RSF works with schools, community groups and young people who have a passion for music but lack the means and support to take it further. RSF creates music projects which are inclusive and accessible regardless of the financial backgrounds of participants. RSF is at the heart of its community and delivers highly subsidised or free music programmes to hundreds of young people every year.

The Glovers Charity Projects Committee are pleased to be supporting The Rhythm Studio Foundation’s Scholarship Scheme. The scholarship scheme targets talented young people for whom music lessons are totally beyond reach. The high profile of the Grenfell tragedy has shown that West London’s most coveted postcode masks an area where income inequality is at its most extreme. Many young people are from the local estates and the RSF Scholarship Scheme aims to counterbalance some of this disadvantage.

“I have learned to be more confident in different aspects of performances... to network with a wide range of people whom, without this opportunity I would have never been able to meet and network with.” Scholarship student, Shamime Ibrahim.

Scholarship student Shamime went on to gain a place at Oxford University, performing at The Hollywood Bowl at the invitation of Jason Mraz and currently has a recording contract.
