The installation of the new Master, Alastair Collett and the Wardens, Mike Dodd (Renter Warden), Jonathan Grosvenor (First Under Warden), Steve Marsh (Second Under Warden) and Felicity Chadwick-Histed (Third Under Warden) took place at a service at St Margaret Lothbury on 5th November 2023.
At the luncheon that followed at Drapers’ Hall, the Master welcomed over 190 attendees and outlined plans to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Company’s charitable trust in the forthcoming year. In each of the last few years, particularly through funds raised for prosthetics, the Company has been able to make grants totalling some £100,000 p.a. as well as pursuing the Company’s charity through gloves programme. The Master also outlined a varied programme of events and activities for the forthcoming year.
The Master commented: “The development of our charitable engagement is one of the aspects of the Company which is appealing to members and prospective members and we need to tell those we meet, in the City and outside, what good the Livery movement does and where and how the Glovers, in particular, are seeking to make a difference.
"Fellow liverymen it is a great honour and privilege to be appointed as Master. I thank you for my election today. I will do my best to carry out the duties of the office of Master and with your help, which is assured, I look forward to the Glovers’ year ahead."
