On the morning of Monday 7th November the City made its formal commemoration of the Fallen, in the north garden of Saint Paul's Cathedral, under the direction of the Dean of St. Paul's. The rain obligingly held off while all listened to the band of the Scots Guards, with the Royal British Legion, forces cadets and others in attendance. Each Livery Company was represented by its Master and I, along with all others, placed our poppy cross in the garden, with the Lord Mayor, Sheriffs and Aldermen looking on. It was a privilege to take part in this memorable and worthwhile event.
