Congratulations to the Charity Projects Committee Prosthetic Hands Team for winning the 2021 Clarity in Charity Communications Award presented by the Company of Communicators and the Worshipful Company of Glaziers & Painters of Glass.
The Glovers' entry raised awareness for the need of prosthetic hands for those born with limb differences or those who have lost hands through illness or accident. The team built constructive relationships with companies producing prosthetic limbs to enhance the quality of life for children as young as three months old.
The judging panel was particularly impressed by the good use of volunteers, the link with more traditional City charitable work and in the production of very clear communication material reaching out to wider social media via Facebook and other means. Of special note is the 22 mile "virtual cross channel swim" completed by Minnie Harris in her local pool raising over £7000 to provide children with Koalaa Sleeves.
