I saw this pair of gloves as I was just casually looking through the Collection photographs and I thought they were different so I am sharing my view with you now.

A rare pair of babies' gauntlet mittens, probably circa 1700 – 1710 of cream open weave muslin linen lined to the gauntlet and curved finger guard with salmon pink silk, minute deep crimson running stitch outline the gauntlet and thumb seam and run in three lines across the knuckles, 11 cm long.

Part of the Collection donated to the Livery in 1959 by the late Robert Spence. Conserved 1995 – 1999 with help from NHLF.
