On 1st November, 2022, the Glovers turned out in force for the installation of Clive Hawkins Master Glover in a traditional ceremony in St Margaret's Lothbury. Clive is the latest Master Glover in a proud history that stretches back over 380 years. The Master Glover will serve from November 1st to the end of October 2023.
Commenting on his new role, Clive Hawkins, Master Glover said: " The Glovers have always been very forward-looking, always devoted to our trade, always interested in philanthropy and active in all parts of the City. This is something to be celebrated. Do not forget that we are the proud possessors of which by general acclaim is the best collection of gloves in the world, comprising no fewer than 2300 separate items. Our collection is a very proactive one, never standing still. We are fully integrated into the commercial life of our industry and wider business. It is my role to ensure that this continues during my time in office.
